This article is a guide to using Utilimarc’s Device Setup Form.
The initial step is selecting the type of installation you would like to enter.
New device installation:
A device that was not previously assigned to a vehicle or that is currently unassigned being installed on a vehicle with no currently assigned device.
New device on previously assigned vehicle/driver:
Assigning a device to a vehicle or driver whose information already exists on another active device. This will automatically archive an entry associated with the new device.
Device reassignment to new vehicle/driver:
A device that is currently assigned to a vehicle or driver and will be assigned to a different vehicle or driver.
Device removal/archive:
A device that is being removed from a vehicle and will not be put back into service. The device can be classified as a spare for later use or the device can be deactivated. Important: a deactivated device will have its mobile service ended and may not be reactivated. Contact support for more information.
New device installation:
After selecting this option, submit information for the vehicle you are installing a new Utilimarc device into.
- Company name: Your company name
- Unit ID: Vehicle Unit ID
- ESN: The number located on the back of the device
- VIN: Vehicle Identification Number
- Odometer Reading: Current vehicle odometer reading at install
- Engine Hours: Current vehicle engine hours at install
- Contact Name: Person responsible for the device or install
- Contact email: Person responsible for the device or install
- Driver Name: Person responsible for driving vehicle
- Driver Email: Person responsible for driving vehicle
- Install Location: Geographic region/garage/service center of vehicle
- Additional Information: Any supplemental comments on install.
After selecting this option, submit information for a new device which is replacing a previously installed device.
- Company name: Your company name
- Unit ID: Vehicle Unit ID
- ESN: The number located on the back of the device
- Old ESN: Taken from device being remove from vehicle
- End service on previous device:
- Yes - End cellular service on old device permanently
- No - Create new entry for old device as a spare
- VIN: Vehicle Identification Number
- Odometer Reading: Current vehicle odometer reading at install
- Engine Hours: Current vehicle engine hours at install
- Contact Name: Person responsible for the device or install
- Contact email: Person responsible for the device or install
- Driver Name: Person responsible for driving vehicle
- Driver Email: Person responsible for driving vehicle
- Install Location: Geographic region/garage/service center of vehicle
- Additional Information: Any supplemental comments on install.
Device reassignment to new vehicle/driver:
After selecting this option, submit information for the new vehicle or driver that a device is being reassigned to.
- Company name: Your company name
- Unit ID: Vehicle Unit ID
- Old Unit ID: Unit ID for the vehicle the device was formerly installed in
- ESN: The number located on the back of the device
- VIN: Vehicle Identification Number
- Odometer Reading: Current vehicle odometer reading at install
- Engine Hours: Current vehicle engine hours at install
- Contact Name: Person responsible for the device or install
- Contact email: Person responsible for the device or install
- Driver Name: Person responsible for driving vehicle
- Driver Email: Person responsible for driving vehicle
- Old Driver Name: Person responsible for driving vehicle on preceding device entry
- Install Location: Geographic region/garage/service center of vehicle
- Additional Information: Any supplemental comments on install.
Device Removal/Archive:
After selecting this option, submit information about the device that is being removed from a vehicle without being replaced.
- Company name: Your company name
- ESN: The number located on the back of the device
- Unit ID: Vehicle Unit ID
- Remove group associations?
- Yes - Remove any group associations
- Device will not transfer groups in a swap.
- No - Preserve group associations
- Groups will go to new device in a swap.
- Yes - Remove any group associations
- End service on device?
- Yes - End cellular service on device permanently
- No - Create new entry for device as a spare
- Contact Name: Person responsible for the device or install
- Contact Email: Person responsible for the device or install
- Additional Information: Any supplemental comments on install.
* When a device is uninstalled/archived, Utilimarc will still have all past data that was recorded.
