How to Move a GO Device to Another Vehicle
Keeping appropriate inventory, knowing the location of your GO devices, and keeping pertinent information tied to the correct assets are important factors that play into the optimization of a fleet. Should you desire to dissociate a GO device from a vehicle, the process is quick and easy to achieve. Please note that the following process is not recommended for vehicles that use the GO device for hours of service and IFTA reporting. For more information on how to move a GO device from one vehicle to another, click the video below.
Watchdog Report
MyGeotab’s Watchdog Report shows the health of devices. If vehicles are communicating, offline, or have not yet been installed, this quick snapshot report helps maximize productivity and minimize downtime throughout the fleet. Every device is tested on a daily basis to ensure it is communicating via cellular network and is accurately recording trips made by drivers and their vehicles. A convenient, built-in emailed report condition can be used in order to have the report sent on an email schedule - only when a device is delayed in communication for more than 30 minutes. For instructions on how to create the Watchdog Report, click the video below.
Vehicle-Based Driver Feedback
Driver feedback is an in-vehicle audible alert used to improve driver performance. When an event is triggered, the GO device makes a sound, alerting the driver of their behavior. Audible in-vehicle alerts can improve the on-road behavior by notifying drivers of potentially risky driving events such as — unbuckled seat belts, speed warning, RPM level, or other aggressive driving events. Automatic Vehicle Management
MyGeotab offers multiple tools to help automate aspects of fleet management. One feature MyGeotab offers is automatic vehicle management. This feature helps keep vehicles organized by automatically making current vehicles historic and adding new vehicles when a device is moved. This feature can also be disabled to keep the flow of data with the same device even when moved from one vehicle to another. For more information and how to apply automatic vehicle management, click the video below.
